How it works

Thermal test: First, the thermal conductivity of the stone is measured to differentiate natural diamonds, lab diamonds and moissanites from diamond simulants such as colorless sapphires or cubic zirconia
First optical test: If it is not a simulant, UV light is shined on the table of the stone to differentiate between diamonds (natural or synthetic) and moissanite
Second optical test: Another UV light test is performed to differentiate natural diamonds from HPHT/CVD lab diamonds or Type IIa diamonds
